|Located in the downtown vicinity next to the Manton Station, Ramp-N-Rail Skateboard Park was built in 2010 and is a state of art skate park for the advanced skate boarder, bicycler,
or just for family fun. The park was spearheaded by a Manton mom that was concerned about the youth running their skateboards down the busy highways and local business parking lots.
|She watched as this group of skater kids would drag empty desks and boards with nails into the park, so they could jump them. Finally, this mother, along with other concerned parents, gathered the skater youth and made an agreement with them…. If they stayed off of the busy roads, then they would help them procure money to build a true skatepark.|
|Through grants, fundraising, and much begging from organizations; enough money was saved to build the park. The park was given its name because of its location directly next to a railroad.
The name seemed fitting for the youth that used the skate ‘rails’ to jump while watching the trains go by on the local railroad.
